It’s a platformer about a cute turtle and duck, what more do you want–

The demo for a little 90s-inspired platformer hit Steam recently: Windswept, a pixellated platformer about a duck and a turtle going on a very large adventure while trying to get home after a storm. The platformer lets you switch between duck and turtle, or one player can take control of both characters in local co-op mode. Windswept is “coming soon,” and will run a Kickstarter soon, which I hope means it’s coming this year because I quite like it.

It’s a pretty classic setup where each of Duck and Turtle has its own has their own way of moving around—the core of a good platformer. Despite that the controls aren’t overcomplex and the movement feels quite good for an unreleased game. The Duck and Turtle each ahs their own moves and combo moves with each other, and while playi…

Now’s the time to remind everyone there’s a Baldur’s Gate board game and no I’m not talking about D&D-

Did you know there’s an excellent Baldur’s Gate board game? No, I don’t mean Dungeons & Dragons. I’m talking about Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate.

Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate came out a good few years ago but it’s still loads of fun to play with a couple intrepid pals. You gather up your party, each person picking a class and character, and start making your way around the city of Baldur’s Gate. Don’t worry, the game only lasts around an hour or two, you don’t need to worry about subclasses, builds, and character creators.

It’s actually a reimagined and improved version of another great board game, Betrayal at House on the Hill. In that one you get up to all sorts of escapades in a haunted house, whereas here you and your party run amok in the city streets and sewers of Baldur’…

InXile’s upcoming steampunk RPG will contain bread, in case you were wondering about its grain content-

To be perfectly honest, I’d completely forgotten about Clockwork Revolution, a distinctly BioShock Infinite-looking first-person immersive sim revealed by inXile Entertainment in June 2023. In my defense, it’s been quite some time since we last heard about it, but the studio recently reminded followers that it’s happening in a most unusual way.

The reminder was prompted by a user on Twitter, who after inXile tweeted about the apparent lawlessness of Leap Day—February 29, which as the old children’s rhyme tells us, only happens once in four—took the opportunity to ask for an update on the state of the game. InXile, somewhat surprisingly, responded. With bread.

Why bread? What does it mean? How is bread contextualized within the norms of Steampunk? The sharper mind…

PowerColor listing confirms the RX 7800 XT, complete with full specifications-

Details regarding AMD’s upcoming RX 7800 XT GPU have been hard to come by. In fact, even the name wasn’t confirmed. Speculation is moot, though, after someone at PowerColor accidentally posted the product page for the Red Devil Radeon RX 7800 XT. Oops!

The page (which has obviously been taken down) was spotted by @All_The_Watts (via VideoCardz) and listed a near-complete set of specifications. This surely means the card is coming sooner than we thought. It was only a couple of days ago that AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su said AMD was on track to launch “enthusiast-class” graphics cards before the end of October.

Apart from the TDP of the card and it’s price, this is it, folks. But with this, we can now speculate about how this long-gestating card will perform. With a shader count of 384…

Move over Blackwell- Nvidia’s next-next gen GPU is reportedly codenamed Rubin, with a debut scheduled for late 2025-

Asking specific questions of senior CPU or GPU engineers is an interesting exercise. Other than being far more interesting sources of information than marketing folks, engineers sometimes have to think years in the past for an answer. That’s because that engineer is probably already hard at work on the next-next generation product.

Right now, we have relatively little information on Nvidia’s next-gen Blackwell gaming GPUs. But even if we could ask senior engineers about it, they’ll have to think back to Blackwell. At this point in time, Blackwell gaming GPU development is certainly at the post tape-out and software development stage prior to its probable release later this year.

The generation following Blackwell is reportedly named Rubin. It’s named after Ver…

Stardew Valley creator swears ‘on the honor of my family name’ that he’ll never charge money for DLC-

Players have been enjoying Stardew Valley’s massive 1.6 update since it arrived back in March—but only if they’re playing on PC. Months later, the update that brought the new meadowlands farm type, several new festivals, support for 8-player co-op, and tons more features and fixes still hasn’t appeared on other platforms like PlayStations 4 and 5, various Xboxes, the Nintendo Switch, and mobile phones.

This delay, expectedly, has led to some impatience among players who have waited for months for the big patch to arrive. Stardew Valley creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is well aware of all the anxious fidgeting going on in the community as they await news of the update’s release date on other platforms.

“I know it is taking a long time, it’s on my mind every minute,” …

Resident Evil fans vote for their favorite character, pick Leon-

A recent poll in Japanese gaming rag Famitsu ahead of the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake asked fans of the survival horror series to select their favorite character, as well as the most detestable (via @bioranger_PT on Twitter). Albert Wesker unsurprisingly took the prize for most detestable, with Nicholai Ginovaef from RE3 in second place, and the Licker in third. Funnily enough, Wesker also rated in the favorite characters poll, where he placed sixth.

Number one with a Red9 bullet was Leon Kennedy. He does rock a pretty sweet jacket, but I’ve never really vibed with the guy myself. I assume he made it on the strength of peoples’ love for two of the games he starred in, RE4 and RE2, which topped the section of Famitsu’s poll for the best Resident Evil game. (RE4 came in at…

These are the best deals still live after Prime Day-

Amazon Fall Prime Day is officially over. If you couldn’t partake in the two-day festival of discounts, don’t fret. Many of the best Prime Day deals are still live and in stock. If you’re still looking to upgrade your hardware and save money, these are remaining deals we most recommend checking out.

The best deal of the week is a 32-inch Alienware 34 OLED display for $800. It’s still expensive at that price, of course, but it’s not only one of the best curved ultrawide monitors you can buy, it’s also one of the best OLEDs on the market.

In our review, we were blown away by its impressive response time and brightness, which has been a pain point with many OLED gaming displays this year.

This RTX 4070-powered MSI Aegis R for $1,500 stands out because of its 2TB S…
